Who is DiverseLuv?

Brian and Denise Hendershot met in October of 1989 over the phone. Four months later, they were married! I know - quick, right?! Coming from two different paths but connected in spirit. They've now been married for over 32 years, with three Joys - one boy and two girls and six “Grandjoys”
As an interracial couple, they had to learn how to maneuver the world a bit differently during their journey. They were judged and criticized for being together and walking in each other's world - teaching them to be cautious but brave when speaking up for one another. Through Denise and Brians's trials, leaders and alliance champions were born. Together they are DiverseLuv.

Meet Denise.

Denise is a writer, veteran, and passionate advocate motivated by the positive possibilities she sees in the world. She loves writing and blogging about any topic that sparks engagement and diverse dialogues. She is a lover of all things family, from spending quality time with her fantastic and supportive husband Brian, to enjoying family cookouts and games with her kids and grandjoys.  Denise, her husband, and her kids are so close that they even coined their family bond as ‘ORG5’.  In Denise’s off time she enjoys an abundance of coffee and great conversations.  She also enjoys music, reading, and cooking.

In December 2021, Denise published GRAND JOY, with co-author and friend, Kim C. Lee , a feel-good book that reminds us all to find joy in small things and life’s most precious moments.

 Building. Supporting. Connecting.

What are we building?  How are we supporting?  Who are we connecting with?  These are all questions asked when building diverse and impactful relationships, friendships, partnerships, and all the other ”-ships”.  We are big on leveraging and supporting others and connecting in ways that we all can benefit from.  It is important to share, receive, connect and repeat!  How else will we know when to celebrate each other's efforts, dreams, endeavors, and ultimately the wins.  Build your presence and platform!  Support others in your respective communities!  Connect with one another!  Share best practices, knowledge, and successes! It’s the ultimate inclusive act!

It’s all Luv
