Hey! Okay, this is not your normal Father’s Day episode. Yes, there is definitely discussion around the phenomenal dads of the world. But, there is also deep dive into our personal stories with our dads, which is no fairytale at all, actually more like a nightmare. Good Dad, Bad Dad, no matter how you unpack this, the world is full f both!
Some of us are very blessed to have fathers in our lives who actually want to be there. The Good Dads look at being a father as a blessing and they have no problem stepping up to the challenge. Good Dads, are involved, and engaged, and realize how powerful their important role plays in the life of a child. They are human and understand that they may not always get it right, but the importance of being present for the growth of their child is the key to simply doing the right thing!
Unfortunately, for every Good Dad, there’s a Bad Dad. What we have to do is try and understand as kids, that when a parent chooses not to parent, it’s not the fault of the child. However hard swallowing that harsh reality may be, it's a pill that is served to too many of us daily. Hold on to the loved ones that choose to be there and recognize more of what and who you do have versus who and what you don't have.
